Tyler Kerns joined the Kriger Law Firm in 2018 and has practiced community association law since 2010. Tyler is experienced in all aspects of community association law, including drafting, amending, interpreting, and enforcing governing documents for common interest developments and collecting on delinquent homeowner assessment accounts. In addition to providing general legal counsel, Tyler supervises the firm's assessment collections department and handles most governing document amendment and restatement projects
Tyler has authored numerous articles for industry publications. He serves on the Publications Committee of the San Diego chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI) and was named the Committee Member of the Year for 2019. That year, Tyler also received the CAI San Diego Author of the Year award.
Tyler is a San Diego County native. He graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration and then went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Tyler set the high grade in several courses and served as an Articles Editor on the Thomas Jefferson Law Review.
Away from work, Tyler keeps busy by spending time with his wife and daughter or by trying to fit in a workout at the gym.
